Indian women’s team today felicitated retiring Sri Lankan Cricket legend Shashikala Siriwardena thanking her for her contribution for the development of the women’s cricket.

“Thank you for your contribution towards women’s cricket. You are a legend and a true sportsperson. Congratulations on a wonderful career and Best wishes for all your future Endeavors!!” Team India said in signed Indian jersey gifted to Shashikala Siriwardena.

Shashikala Siriwardena is one of Sri Lanka’s most accomplished allrounders in both ODIs and T20Is, with over a decade and a half of playing experience. She made her ODI debut against West Indies in March 2003 and will end her International Career after the current Women’s T20 World Cup.

She is the only Sri Lankan to have scored over 1000 runs and captured over 100 wickets in ODIs.

She captained the Sri Lanka team in 2013 that beat India, England and South Africa.
