Former Sri Lankan cricketer Thilakaratne Dilshan has not been included in the nominations list of Sri Lanka Podujana Party for Galle district.
Dilshan had announced previously that he will be contesting from Galle under the SLPP ticket in the parliamentary election scheduled to be held on the 25th April.
It is surprising that the ace cricketer’s name was not mentioned in the nominations list despite his repeated statements which confidently stated that he will be contesting in the general election from Galle district.
SLPP handed over nomination to contest in Galle district today under the leadership of Minister Ramesh Pathirana.
Some local SLPP politicians in Galle were against Dilshan’s decision to contest from Galle.
