Activities of all rice mills in the country have been declared as an essential service to ensure uninterrupted processing of paddy in view of the Covid19 quarantine program, President office announced.
In a bid to prevent any rice shortage in the market, the Government has taken this decision.
Yesterday at a meeting held in Colombo under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, Military officer revealed that the country has ample paddy stocks to meet the requirement of the people.
