Sri Lanka has identified 8 Covid19 patients in the last 24 hours

The Dehiwela person who was reported yesterday (10th) to be Covid-19 positive had returned from England on the 15th of March with another.

Health officials confirm that he underwent self quarantine for 14 days after his return. He started showing Covid-19 symptoms 12 days after his quarantine period ended.

6 patients who were identified from Suduwella Ja-Ela area are connected to the suspect who was arrested for a theft who later found to be a COVID19 patient. 

Authorities had to launch a search operation to find people associated with the theft suspect after they failed to comply with the instructions and evaded police, the group of 28 was arrested following a search operation.

The group was moved to the Oluvil Quarantine Facility operated by the Sri Lanka Navy and 06 of them tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.
