Indian High Commission sources say Indian media reports claiming that the Indian army will arrive in Sri Lanka to assist COVID19 combat efforts are false.
“There is no plan to send the Indian Army to Sri Lanka for whatever purpose, Those media reports are false” a source from Indian High Commission in Colombo told the NewsWire.
Earlier, Indian based PTI said quoting official sources that “Indian Army is readying separate teams to be deployed in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Afghanistan to help those countries boost capabilities to deal with rising cases of coronavirus.”
