Navy Sailor identified as the first Covid19 patient from Polonnaruwa, 12 villages to be isolated

The 322nd COVID-19 patient who was diagnosed at the Polonnaruwa General Hospital earlier today has been identified as a Sailor attached to the Welisara Navy Camp.

The Sailor, a resident of the Polonnaruwa District incidentally is the first patient identified from the region.

According to Ada Newspaper, The Navy Sailor is attached to the Welisara Navy Camp.

Subsequent to returning home on the 18th, he had admitted himself to a Hospital in Polonnaruwa after developing a Fever.

“12 Villages in the Lankapura Division of Polonnaruwa where the patient lived has now been declared as isolated areas”, stated the District Administration PHI.

Meanwhile the 323rd patient who was diagnosed with Covid-19 at a Quarantine Center has been identified as a resident of Ja-Ela
