The Government has approved the reopening of pre- schools that were temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister of Health Dr. Pavithra Wanniarachchi said that attention was focused on the matter after parents had requested the Government to consider the reopening of pre-schools to provide preliminary education for their children.
A discussion was held with pre- school teachers on the possibility of reopening pre- schools.
It was later decided to reopen pre-schools to function under 50% capacity based on the advice of experts and health officials, she said.
Minister Wanniarachchi added that schools too may reopen in the near future. (Newswire)
