The All Ceylon Dengue Prevention Assistants Association (ACDPAA) has joined the recent trade union action launched by the Public Health Inspectors Union (PHIU).
The ACDPAA today withdrew from all COVID-19 related activities, such as PCR tests and disinfection programs.
The Association voiced its support for the PHIU, citing the health guidelines issued with regard to the upcoming General Election.
The PHUI launched the trade union action on Friday (17) after Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi had issued health guidelines pertaining to the election removing public health inspectors from duties.
She is also reported to have claimed that deploying PHI officers will cause inconvenience to the public.
The PHIU is engaged in a trade union action against the statement made by Minister Wanniarachchi. (Newswire)
