A pregnant lady who was tested Covid-19 positive has given birth to a child yesterday (01st August) at Colombo East hospital.
The doctors have conducted a PCR test on the child as well, to confirm whether it is Covid-19 positive as well, due to its mother’s infection.
Stationed in Kandakadu Quarantine Centre for observation after she had returned from Dubai on the 10th of July, the pregnant woman was tested Covid-19 positive after being subjected to a PCR test on the 21st July.
The doctors have confirmed that the mother and child are healthy after the birth of the child and have shown no complications so far. (NewsWire)
