The Department of Police has decided to increase the prize money awarded to Police officers and those who assist in arresting suspects involved in illegally manufacturing firearms and explosives in Sri Lanka.
The Police have been conducting continuous raids to arrest such suspects, but due to certain restrictions over the past few months a significant increase has been reported in the manufacturing of illegal firearms and explosives.
In order to decrease such criminal activities and to enable the public to live free from fear of any crimes, the Police Departments has revised its prize money in this regard. (NewsWire)
