Special announcement from Police to three-wheeler drivers and motorcyclists

Thee wheeler drivers and motorcyclists have been instructed to follow the bus priority lane from tomorrow (16) in line with the Traffic Lane Regulations.

The Bus Priority Lane Scheme was reintroduced yesterday (14) to ease traffic congestion on four main roads in the Colombo City and suburbs.

Western Province Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon said three-wheeler drivers and motorcyclists violating the traffic lane rules within the Colombo city limits will be directed to awareness classes on road discipline conducted by the Sri Lanka Police.

The traffic lane rule is in effect in the following areas.

From the New Kelani Bridge on Baseline Road to Orugodawatte, Dematagoda, Borella, and Narahenpita leading to High Level Road and Baseline Junction.

From the Polduwa Junction on Sri Jayawardenapura Mawatha to the Rajagiriya flyover, Ayurveda roundabout, D.S.Senanayake Junction, Horton Place roundabout, Library Junction and Liberty roundabout.

On Galle Road, from William Junction and leads towards Dickmans Road Junction, Bambalapitiya, Colpetty, Galle Face roundabout, and the N.S.A. roundabout.

And from Anula Vidyalaya towards High Level Road, Baseline Junction, Park Road Junction, Thimbirigasyaya Junction, Thunmulla Junction, Glass House and Pittala Junction. (NewsWire)
