A tuition teacher has been arrested on charges of allegedly sexually abusing four female Grade 01 students in Kirama, Rammala.
One student had been sexually abused by the teacher during class and had informed her parents in this regard.
The parents of the child had met the teacher at his tuition class, had assaulted him, tied him to a chair, and locked him inside a room at the location yesterday.
They had later found video footage on the suspect’s mobile phone of children being sexually abused.
The parents had thereafter informed the Walasmulla Police in this regard following which the suspect had been taken into custody and admitted to the Walasmulla hospital.
According to Ada Derana, the four female students who were allegedly sexually abused by the suspect have been admitted to the hospital for a medical examination.
The suspect has been identified as a 35-year-old father of two and a resident of Angunukolapelessa.
