Colombo Municipal Council worker tests positive for Covid. Two CMC offices closed.

An employee of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) Charity Commissioner’s Office has tested positive for COVID-19.

CMC Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ruwan Wijayamuni said that as a result, the CMC Office in Townhall will be temporarily closed today and tomorrow (16).

The Charity Commissioner’s office on Deans Road, Maradana will be closed for two weeks.
The employee has been admitted to a Covid treatment facility, while her family members have been transferred to a quarantine centre after being subjected to PCR tests.

80 employees of the office were subjected to PCR tests today, while 110 people who had come into contact with the patient are to be tested tomorrow.

Dr. Wiajayamuni further said that the Charity Commissioner had visited the CMC Townhall Office for a meeting which was attended by Mayoress Rosy Senanayake.

PCR tests will be conducted tomorrow (16) on Senanayake and other members who attended the meeting, he added. (NewsWire)
