- 20th Amendment to the Sri Lanka constitution passed today with 156 MPs voting favour for it. 65 MPs opposed it.
- Seperate vote got underway for dual citizenship clause which allows duel citizens in Parliament. It was passed with majority voting in favour : 157 to 64
- The second reading of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution was passed in Parliament with more than 150 MPs voting in favour.
8 Opposition MPs supported the 20th amendment.
