A private hospital in Colombo has established a new drive-through PCR testing facility where people can be tested for COVID-19 instead of going to a hospital or clinic.

The Nawaloka hospital in Colombo has established the new service where people who want to undergo private PCR tests can do so from their vehicle after making an appointment.

Meanwhile, concerns have now arisen over the varying prices of PCR tests offered by private hospitals accredited by the Ministry of Health.

The Health Ministry earlier said private hospitals should only charge Rs. 6000 per test, but many say private hospitals charge higher than the stipulated price, at present.

According to sources, Rs 7,000 – 13,000 are charged by private hospitals for a PCR test. (NewsWire)
