Bollywood Actor Sachiin Joshi buys Dambulla team in LPL

Sachiin Joshi, the Bollywood actor and the man who is known to have bought Vijay Mallya’s famous and sprawling Kingfisher Villa in Goa, has purchased the Dambulla franchise of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), Mumbai Mirror reports.

He becomes the second Indian owner after Sohail Khan (Kandy) in the five-team tournament which is being launched on November 27.

The LPL is yet to confirm the development officially but sources in the league have told Mirror that the agreement with 36-year-old Joshi, whose family runs Gutka business, has been signed and he has taken up the franchise.

LPL today changed the name of Team Dambulla from Dambulla Lions to Dambulla Viikings.
