A group of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Parliamentarians visited the Mahara Prison today as part of a fact- finding mission on the recent unrest.
The MPs who were dressed in personal protective equipment (PPE) had engaged in a discussion with prison officials outside the prison premises.
Eleven inmates had died, while 105 inmates and 2 prison guards had sustained injured in the unrest that occurred at the Mahara prison on Sunday (29). (NewsWire)
