Covid patient who spat on health officials sentenced to 6 years of rigorous imprisonment

The Covid-19 infected person from Atulugama who spat on the faces of Public Health Inspectors has been sentenced to 6 years in prison.

The Panadura Magistrate’s court issued a 6 year prison sentence to the suspect after he was found guilty of 3 charges.

The Police arrested the suspect on December 4th and produced him before the Panadura Magistrate virtually. He was later remanded.

The accused in question had refused to be taken to a treatment centre and subsequently spat on the faces of Public Health Inspectors. (NewsWire)
