Two Sri Lankan white ball cricketers test positive for Covid

Two Sri Lankan cricketers training for a white ball series have tested positive for COVID-19.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said the players were training for the upcoming One Day International (ODI) and Twenty-20 International series in West Indies.

They were reportedly training in 3 seperate groups in Colombo.

The SLC said the two infected players will be transferred to Covid treatment facilities.

Health authorities are engaged in contact tracing to identify other cricketers who had come into contact with the infected cricketers.

The SLC said as the training was conducted in groups, not all players had come into direct contact with the infected cricketers.

Authorities have commenced implementing necessary precautionary measures in this regard. (NewsWire)
