The number of Sri Lankan cricketers who were set to participate in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 Cricket League in the United Arab Emirates has reduced to three players.

Initially 13 Sri Lankan cricketers were set to participate in the tournament which was to be played from 28 January to 06 February, 2021.

The number of Sri Lankan cricketers participating in the tournament has reduced due to the Sri Lanka Cricket not issuing No Objection Certificates to players in the national squad.

Some of the senior national players have been prohibited from participating in the Abu Dhabi T10 Cricket League due to Sri Lanka’s packed international schedule for this year.

Sri Lanka Cricket has taken this decision in order to prevent injuries and to provide adequate time to rest for the national players.

Therefore, only three Sri Lankan cricketers will feature in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 Cricket League.

Matheesha Pathirane will represent the Bangla Tigers, while Mahesh Theekshana and Dhananjaya Lakshan will feature for the Northern Warriors. (NewsWire)
