President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed a 3 member panel to probe the findings of former war commissions.

A gazette notification has been issued appointing the panel headed by Judge of the Supreme Court A.H.M.D. Nawaz

The panel has been appointed as the Human Rights Council prepares to discuss human rights in Sri Lanka at its next session in February-March 2021.

“The Government of Sri Lanka is committed to ensure that, other issues remain to be resolved through democratic and legal processes and to make institutional reforms where necessary to ensure justice and reconciliation,” President said in the gazette notification.
