Message from the Mayor of Colombo, Rosy Senanayake on Colombo City Covid Vaccination program.
“I am pleased to announce that from this Saturday (27th February) the Colombo Municipal Council Public Health Department will begin vaccinating all residents of the city (zones 1 through 15), who are over the age of 60. We hope to complete the vaccination of the approximately 115,000 residents in this age group within two weeks.
Citizens over the age of 60 who reside within the Colombo City limits, should register with their area PHI, or the council member for their Municipal Ward. It is important that this process is followed to ensure an efficient program.
I must thank His Excellency President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Health Minister Dr. Sudharshani Fernandopulle, covid task force, and health ministry officials, without whose support this would not have been possible. Last but not least, I have to thank my Public Health Department team for their tireless work and dedication in these very difficult times.”
