Four Attorneys-at-Law have filed a complaint with the Chief Justice over the final report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) appointed to probe incidents of political victimisation.

The Attorneys have filed a written submission to the Chief Justice calling for an inquiry on the final report. They have requested the Chief Justice to inquire if the PCoI’s final report is in contempt of court.

The report of the PCoI appointed to probe incidents of political victimisation was handed over to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in December 2020.

Thereafter, in January 2021, a commission was appointed to implement the recommendations of the PCoI into political victimisation.

The PCoI was tasked to look into political victimisation which occurred between 8th January 2015 and 16th November 2019. (NewsWire)
