Health authorities have decided to restrict the COVID-19 vaccination programme to prioritize mainly people above the age of 60 from Saturday (13).
Acting Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hematha Herath said the Ministry has taken the decision as Covid deaths in Sri Lanka consist of a large number of people from above 60.
He said people above 60 are most prone to being hospitalized after contracting the virus, and the vaccination will be administered with a view of reducing the death toll and hospitalization of the age group. (NewsWire)
