The highest number of arrests in a single day for the violation of quarantine regulations was reported in Sri Lanka yesterday.
The Police said 436 people were arrested for failing to wear face masks and for not maintaining social distancing in public places.
A total of 5922 people have been arrested for violating quarantine regulations since 30th October 2020.
Among those arrested yesterday, 101 were arrested during quarantine operations conducted in Pettah last evening.
Another 185 people who were not wearing face masks in a proper manner were warned and released by the Police. (NewsWire)
