Credit Card scam: Four including Chinese national arrested

Four suspects, including a Chinese national, have been arrested over a credit card scam in Mount Lavinia. 

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspects were arrested by the Mount Lavinia Police following a complaint filed by a Customer Service Centre.

Investigations launched by the Mount Lavinia Police had led to the arrest of the suspects. The Sri Lankan suspects have been identified as residents of Kandy, Warakapola, and Mount Lavinia.

A search operation conducted on the residence of the suspects in Mount Lavinia had resulted in the Police seizing a laptop, 30 fake credit cards, and materials used to create fake credit cards. 

DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspects will be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court today. (NewsWire)
