The BAR Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) has raised concerns over the recent arrests and detention of protesters on the charges of violating the quarantine law.
In a letter addressed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Director-General of Health Services, the BASL has explained the laws applicable in respect of the recent arrests of protesters and quarantine measures imposed on them.
The BASL also raised concerns about the excessive use of force by the Police when dealing with protesters on numerous occasions in the recent past. (NewsWire)
