A special operation has been conducted across Sri Lanka on Sunday (18) with the involvement of 15,292 Police personnel.
The Police said 384 people were arrested on suspicion, while 338 suspects against whom arrest warrants were issued had also been arrested during the operation.
Another 97 people were arrested over various criminal activities, 1355 suspects related to drug and excise offences, and 11 for the illegal possession of firearms.
The Police said 655 people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
They added that 4448 cases of traffic offences were also detected during the special operation.
The Police said the operations will continue to apprehend more wanted criminals to prevent crimes in Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
