Sri Lanka should stop all large gathering immediately, Dr. LakKumar Fernando, the Chairman of the Association of Medical Specialists of Sri Lanka, says.
“Relaxation of travel restrictions must be reviewed, where the maximum number that can be gather at one event must be limited to 50 to 60” he said.
“There is a risk that Delta variant becoming the dominant strain in Sri Lanka, in the coming months” Dr. LakKumar Fernando added.
Meanwhile the Daily Mirror newspaper reported that Sri Lanka’s health system has been exhausted as almost all hospitals have run out of beds to treat the rising number of patients infected with the Delta variant of the COVID-19. (NewsWire)
