A man has been arrested by the Teldeniya Police for providing forged documents to a Finance Company in Kurunegala to acquire a vehicle worth Rs. 2.4 million.
The Police said the 47-year-old resident of Battaramulla had been arrested by the Teldeniya Police yesterday.
He is reported to have produced forged documents from a private bank in the Digana area and a State Bank to the Finance Company, claiming that he has Rs. 2.8 million in his account at the private bank.
The suspect was arrested following a complaint filed by the private bank in Digana.
The Police said the suspect will be produced before the Teldeniya Magistrate’s Court today. (NewsWire)
