Four websites that were used to publish advertisements with regard to the online sex trafficking ring using a 15-year-old girl in Mount Lavinia have been ordered to be banned by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
The order was issued based on a request made by the Police Children and Women Bureau to ban the relevant websites.
Warning that operating such websites is considered an offence, the Police said further investigations are underway into the matter.
The online sex trafficking ring using a 15-year-old girl was busted in Mount Lavinia in June.
Over 30 suspects, including a monk and politicians, were arrested on charges of sexually exploiting the teenage girl. (NewsWire)
