The Cabinet has decided to issue a Tourist Visa valid for 180-days for tourists visiting Sri Lanka through the Sri Lanka Tourist Mobile App.

The mobile application has been introduced by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).

Tourists have to obtain their Visas via the tourist Visa application process through the ‘Online Electronic Tourist Visa Activation System (ETA)’ which has been implemented under the Department of Immigration and Emigration.

It has been proposed to charge a payment of US$ 70 from tourists from SAARC countries, US$ 85 from non-SAARC countries, and US$ 50 from tourists from Singapore, the Maldives, and Seychelles.

Thereby, the proposal submitted by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to provide Tourist Visas valid for 180 days has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. (NewsWire)
