Seven women, including five foreign nationals, have been arrested following a raid conducted on a brothel in Hill Street, Dehiwala last night.
The Police said the manager of the brothel was also arrested during the raid that was conducted based on a tip-off.
The manager of the brothel is a 43-year-old resident of Colombo-08, while the women are aged between 23-39 years and are residents of Panadura and Wellawatte.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the foreign nationals arrested at the brothel do not have valid visas and had overstayed in Sri Lanka violating visa conditions.
Further investigations have revealed that the brothel had been advertised on several social media platforms and websites.
The Police said the suspects arrested last night will be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court today. (NewsWire)
