Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga is currently in Russia to attend several tourism promotion events to promote tourism to Sri Lanka.
Issuing a statement, Minister Ranatunga said he had attended the events alongside State Minister of Regional Cooperation Tharaka Balasooriya.
He said a special press briefing was organized for Russian media institutions, in which several renowned tourism magazine reporters and bloggers had participated.
The Minister of Tourism said as the representative of Sri Lanka, he had revealed that following the successful completion of the current COVID-19 vaccination drive in the country, Sri Lanka will be turned into a Covid-safe country in the near future.
Minister Prasanna Ranatunga further said he had also appealed to the Russian media to report on the matter in order to create interest among Russians to visit Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
