A cleaning supervisor attached to the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake has been arrested on charges of attempting to smuggle out gold biscuits.
The suspect was arrested after being inspected by officials from the anti-narcotics unit of the Customs Department at the airport today.
The man had concealed several gold biscuits inside his clothes. He had been inspected while trying to leave the airport.
The suspect was thereafter arrested by the officials from the anti-narcotics unit of the Customs Department.
