Twenty-nine (29) Covid deaths were registered for yesterday (25) by the Director-General of Health Services.
Daily covid deaths had dropped below 20 over the last 8 to 9 days and the increase to 29 deaths has raised some concerns among the health authorities.
The Deputy Director of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath said the Health Ministry is analyzing if the high death toll is attributed to an increase in Covid cases in the country.
Stating that yesterday’s death toll was a significant increase, he urged the general public to be vigilant in this regard.
He said there could be a sudden increase in Covid cases and deaths, adding that this is not something that should be disregarded. (NewsWire)
