Over 60s can get booster dose at walk-in vaccination centers

The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will be administered as the booster dose at several vaccination centres, including the Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo today. 

Regional Epidemiologist of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) Dr. Dinuka Guruge said those above the age of 60 who have completed three months since their 2nd dose of any COVID-19 vaccine will be eligible to obtain the shot. 

She further said the Viharamahadevi Park will be open for walk-ins and past vaccine types/brands will not be essential. 

The Government yesterday (17) commenced administering the booster shot to eligible people in the Western and Southern Provinces and in the Anuradhapura and Ampara Districts. 

Eligible persons have been requested to bring their National Identity Cards (NIC) and COVID-19 vaccination cards.

People can also obtain an appointment from the CMC in order to obtain their booster dose.
