The power supply may be disrupted from time to time in several areas today as well, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has announced.
The CEB said power disruptions will take place as a generator at the Kelanitissa Power Plant has broken down.
The Board further said higher demand for electricity supply has also resulted in the power supply being disrupted.
Power cuts may occur from time to time until 09.30 pm today, the CEB added.
Sudden power outages were reported in several areas last evening.
The CEB reported that a malfunction of a turbine at the Kelanitissa Power Plant had caused the power cuts. (NewsWire)
