The Colombo High Court today ordered the Colombo Chief Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) to examine the health of MP Patali Champika Ranawaka.
The Colombo Chief Judicial Medical Officer has been instructed to submit a report on MP Patali Champika Ranawaka’s health condition.
Parliamentarian MP Patali Champika Ranawaka is currently admitted to a private hospital.
The order was issued when the case filed against MP Ranawaka in connection to injuring an individual in an accident in Rajagiriya in 2016 was taken up for hearing today.
The request by MP Patali Champika Ranawaka to suspend the trial related to the accident case was not given by the Court of Appeal yesterday, postponing the verdict for the next hearing
The case was thereafter taken up for hearing today during which the MP had informed he was unable to attend the hearing due to health issues.
Thereby, the Colombo High Court today ordered the Colombo Chief Judicial Medical Officer to submit a report on the MP’s health condition. (NewsWire)
