A crocodile has been spotted on the artificial beach of the Port City of Colombo alongside the Galle Face Green.

According to video footage and pictures, the crocodile is seen walking out of the water and settling on the shore facing the road.

Earlier, it was reported that three crocodiles had been spotted in the Wellawatte, Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, and Galle Face sea areas.

One crocodile had been spotted in the Galle Face sea area on Sunday (09) with investigations revealing that it was not the same that had attacked a diver in the seas off Dehiwala recently.

The diver had been attacked by a saltwater crocodile on 3rd January and the wildlife authorities are yet to capture the reptile.

Another crocodile had also been spotted close to the Galle Face sea area on Sunday (09).

It has been reported that the 3rd crocodile is smaller in size in comparison to the two previous ones.

It is unclear if the crocodile spotted on the artificial beach of the Port City of Colombo is the same as those spotted earlier.

However, Wildlife officers have revealed that the reptiles are reportedly entering the sea areas through a water opening between Wellawatte and Dehiwala.

They further said that the authorities are vigilant and are on standby to capture the reptiles. (NewsWire)
