A former LTTE cadre has been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for life by the Colombo High Court.
Charges filed pertaining to cases on the suspect’s activities during the civil war were taken up for hearing on 28th February 2022.
The suspect, Thangavelu Nimalan, had served as a member of the LTTE’s intelligence unit during the civil war.
Following his arrest, a case had been filed with the Colombo High Court in 2011.
The court had sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment for life on charges of being in possession of nearly 2 kilos of RDX.
Four other charges have also been levelled against the suspect, which are being debated in court. (NewsWire)
