Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT)-Mobitel joined hands with Old Dharmapalians Sports Club for the recently-concluded Governor’s Trophy One-Day Tournament 2021 conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
Old Dharmapalians Sports Club (ODSC) led by Tharindu Amarathunga had a terrific season ending up as the Runners-up. In the first-round, ODSC defeated Unichela SC, Digamadulla CC, Moratuwa SC and Crusaders SC. However, they lost to Ratnapura CC in a close-contested game.
During the quarter-final stage, ODSC managed to beat Rajarata SC by 5 wickets and then they won their semi-final fixture against Old Servatians CC by 64 runs.
Despite a strong fightback towards the latter stages of the game, Old Dharmapalians Sports Club went down by 64 runs in the final against Moratuwa Sports Club played at Colts Cricket Grounds.
SLT-Mobitel’s commitment towards empowering local cricket in order to develop future prospects of the national cricket team is massively commendable.
