The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) and the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) have made special announcements ahead of the April New Year festival.

The PUCSL has announced the power cut schedules from the 13th to the 17th of April.

PUCSL Chairman Janaka Rathnayake said power cuts will not be imposed from the 13th to the 15th of April, which is the April New Year festival.

Rathnayake said that however, power cuts will be imposed on the 16th and 17th of April.

He said power cuts for a duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes will be imposed from 08.00 am to 5.00 pm on the said two dates.

Meanwhile, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has announced fuel supply restrictions for the next three days.

The CPC said fuel will not be supplied to barrels and cans from the 12th to the 14th of April.

Only petrol and diesel will not be issued for barrels and cans, this restriction will not apply to the purchase of kerosene, the institution said.

The CPC further said that the decision has been taken as there were sufficient fuel stocks at the petroleum storage. (NewsWire)
