Scheduled power cuts will be reimposed across the country from tomorrow (16).

The authorities had suspended the disruption of power supply temporarily over the last three days in view of the April New Year festival.

However, scheduled power cuts will resume from tomorrow, with authorities disrupting the power supply for a period of 02-hours and 15 minutes.

The power cuts will be imposed in slots between 09.00 am to 06.00 pm, while power cuts will not be imposed at night.

Meanwhile, the restriction imposed on supplying fuel in cans and barrels has been further extended.

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has issued instructions to fuel stations to refrain from providing fuel in cans and barrels without authorization.

Earlier, the CPC had announced that it has decided not to provide fuel in cans and barrels only during the April new Year festival, which is on the 13th and 14th of April.

However, the CPC has now announced that it has further extended the restriction. (NewsWire)
