The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has requested for power cuts to be imposed over the weekend.
The CEB has requested to impose power cuts for a period of 03 hours and 20 minutes on Saturday (23) and 03 hours on Sunday (24).
The request for power cuts over the weekend has been made due to the unavailability of fuel for thermal power plants.
The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) said approval has been granted for the CEB’s request.
Thereby, power cuts for 2 hours will be imposed from 9am to 5pm, and 1 hour and 20 minutes between 5pm to 9pm on Saturday (23).
A power cut for a period of 1 hour and 40 minutes will be imposed from 9am to 5:20pm and 1 hour and 20 minutes from 5:20pm to 9:20pm on Sunday (24). (NewsWire)
