Former minister Namal Rajapaksa says he will extend his fullest cooperation to any investigation that is conducted into the events that took place in Sri Lanka on Monday.
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) loyalists attacked peaceful anti-government protesters in Colombo leading to widespread unrest breaking out across the country.
In a Twitter message, Namal Rajapaksa said “I personally will extend my fullest cooperation to any investigation that is taking place with regard to the unfortunate events that took place on Monday.”
The Parliamentarian further said neither he nor his father have any intention of leaving Sri Lanka and will continue to remain in the country.
Namal Rajapaksa also called for those who were involved in inciting any form of violence or spreading hate to be brought to justice.
“All those who damaged both public and private property must be held accountable and those who suffered at the hands of unruly mobs must have justice,” he added.
The former minister also pointed out that law and order must prevail for Sri Lanka to move forward. (NewsWire)
