The National Election Commission (NEC) of Sri Lanka has decided to appoint S. Jagath Samarawickrama as a member of Parliament.
Issuing a statement, the NEC said that Jagath Samarawickrama will replace the late MP Amarakeethi Athukorala.
The Polonnaruwa District MP passed away during the unrest that broke out in Sri Lanka last week.
The NEC said Jagath Samarawickrama from the same electoral division will fill the seat left vacant following the demise of MP Athukorala. (NewsWire)
