“I am unsure on which side of the bridge I stand as of now” – PM

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has revealed he does not know which side of the Parliament he represents at present.

Addressing the House today, PM Wickremesinghe said he is unable to attend meetings of the opposition and has not attended any meetings of the ruling party as well.

“I am still standing at the entrance of the bridge and I am unsure on which side of it I stand as of now,” he said.

The Prime Minister made the revelation while commenting on the vote that took place to elect a new Deputy Speaker of Parliament,

He revealed that he would have liked for a female Parliamentarian to have been appointed to the post.

PM Wickremesinghe said, but clearly, that was not the wish of the Parliamentarians, which was evident in the outcome of the vote. (NewsWire)
