The Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) says petrol will only be supplied directly to the fuel tanks of vehicles from today.
In a notice, the LIOC said that no sale of petrol shall be allowed from LIOC sheds into cans, containers, or bottles.
The fuel supplier said the decisions will be implemented with immediate effect from today.
The LIOC also added that such measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the public and property. (NewsWire)
