A breakdown has been reported at the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant, Minister of Energy Kanchana Wijesekera announced today.
He said a breakdown has been reported in Unit 1 of the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant.
The technical staff at the power plant are currently working to identify the fault, the Energy Minister said.
Minister Wijesekera further said that Unit 2 of the power plant is undergoing scheduled maintenance work, while Unit 3 will continue to operate.
He added that the West Coast and other Fuel Power Plants will be used to manage the supply. (NewsWire)
